Israeli media reported over the weekend that Hamam al Hamami, the flydubai copilot who attacked his captain aboard Flight FZ-1073 on September 30, intended to crash the Boeing 737 into Ben Gurion Airport near Tel Aviv. The captain fought him off and unlocked the cockpit door, passengers restrained him, and two off duty pilots who happened to be on board landed the jet safely in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia with all 172 people alive. Israeli investigators now believe he acted alone and had abandoned a similar plan in July at the last moment.
