Illumination's Minions & Monsters, the seventh film in the Despicable Me franchise, is aiming for about 80 million dollars over the five-day July 4th holiday weekend from roughly 4,000 North American theaters. It faces Toy Story 5 in its second weekend, which suffered the biggest sophomore-weekend drop in Pixar history, and Angel Studios' Young Washington, a George Washington origin story timed to America's 250th anniversary.
