An Indian student working through the RAD@home citizen science project spotted what researchers call the most striking bow-shock radio galaxy ever detected at low frequencies, designated RAD-BAARG, in data from the LOFAR telescope network. The galaxy's jets interact with the hot intracluster gas as it falls supersonically into a nearby galaxy cluster, creating an arc spanning approximately 1.8 million light-years.
