Bob Mackie, the costume designer known as the Sultan of Sequins, died on September 14, 2026, at age 87. He is best known for creating Cher's famous sparkling stage looks, and he also designed for stars such as Tina Turner, Carol Burnett, and Elton John. Mackie won nine Emmy Awards and a Tony Award during his long career in fashion and television.
