Webb Finds Strong Signs of an Atmosphere on HD 3167 b, the Coldest Lava World Ever Seen With One

Astronomers using the James Webb Space Telescope report strong evidence that HD 3167 b, a rocky super-Earth about 154 light years away that circles its star in under a day, has an atmosphere. The planet is cooler than a bare rock should be, which suggests air is carrying heat to its night side.
