Surrey Physicists Propose a Superfluid Helium Qubit That Could Cut Quantum Computing Errors by About 100 Times

Researchers at the University of Surrey propose SHOQ, a qubit made from charge neutral superfluid helium-3 that could be naturally shielded from some electromagnetic noise. Their calculations predict error rates about 100 times lower than superconducting qubits, but no device has been built yet.
