
Engineers at Washington State University used artificial intelligence to search through more than 100 million possible printer settings for GRCop-42, a tough copper alloy NASA developed for rocket engines. After just 40 real test prints, the AI found six settings that work, including one using record-low laser power that could let smaller companies print the material on ordinary 3D printers.
