Researchers at South Korea's Korea Research Institute of Chemical Technology have developed a new battery cathode technology that lets lithium ions move much more easily inside the battery. The new material cut the energy needed for ions to enter the battery by more than half and increased capacity during fast use by 166 percent in lab tests. Scientists say the breakthrough could help electric vehicles, energy storage systems, and robots run longer without needing bigger, heavier batteries.
