University of Oklahoma paleontologists have identified soft tissue preserved in a 450-million-year-old crinoid fossil, only the second such discovery ever made and the oldest on record. The specimen, rediscovered in a small Montreal museum collection, is helping scientists understand how ancient marine ecosystems worked.
