๐ฐ๐ท AI Korean tutor
Practice speaking Korean with an AI tutor who corrects you in real time
Quick answer
SpeakBase's AI Korean tutor, Kate, holds live voice conversations in Korean, corrects particles and speech levels as you make mistakes, and explains in English. The first lesson is free with no card; Premium is $11.99 a month for daily practice.
Kate is a live voice tutor. You talk in Korean, she talks back like a real person, and the moment you make a real mistake she stops, corrects it and explains why in English, then steers the conversation so you use the right form again. No scripts, no recorded phrases, no waiting for a booking.

What a lesson looks like
- Pick a situation: 48 role-plays from ordering coffee to a job interview, or type your own (โdinner with my partnerโs parentsโ) and Kate rehearses exactly that.
- Talk for five to ten minutes. Kate adapts the speed and vocabulary to your level and keeps the conversation moving.
- Every real mistake is corrected in the moment and explained in English.
- At the end you get a recap of your mistakes with corrected phrases; they come back in later lessons until you get them right.
A real correction, as Kate makes it
๋๊ฐ ์์ด์? ๋ฏผ์๋ ์์ด์.Nuga wasseoyo? Minsu-neun wasseoyo.
๋๊ฐ ์์ด์? ๋ฏผ์๊ฐ ์์ด์.Nuga wasseoyo? Minsu-ga wasseoyo.
When you answer 'who?', the new information takes 'i/ga', not the topic marker 'eun/neun'. Kate explains this in English the moment you say it, then asks another 'who' question so you use 'ga' again.
Why Korean needs a live tutor, not another app
Speech levels: who you talk to changes the verb
'Gomawo', 'gomawoyo', 'gamsahamnida' all mean thank you, at different levels of politeness. Korean marks the relationship in every sentence ending. Drama Korean is often casual; real life with strangers is polite. Kate uses the polite -yo endings by default and tells you when a form is too casual or too stiff.
Topic and subject particles
'Eun/neun' and 'i/ga' both attach to the noun and both look like 'the subject' to an English speaker, but they are not interchangeable. Answering 'who came?' with 'Minsu-neun wasseoyo' sounds odd; it should be 'Minsu-ga'. The difference is learned by being corrected in real answers.
Sound changes between letters
Hangul is quick to learn, but written letters change their sound next to each other: 'hanguk-eo' is said 'han-gu-geo', and 'gat-i' (together) is said 'gachi'. Reading the letters one by one makes you hard to understand. Hearing the model and being corrected fixes it.

Frequently asked questions
Does Kate speak polite or casual Korean?
Polite -yo Korean by default, the form you need with anyone you do not know well. Ask her to switch to casual speech (banmal) and she will, and she will explain when each one fits.
Does the AI tutor correct particles?
Yes. Mixing up 'eun/neun' and 'i/ga' is the classic learner mistake, and Kate catches it in the moment and explains in English why the particle changes.
Can I practise for a trip to Korea or talking with Korean friends?
Yes. Pick a role-play (cafe, restaurant, hotel, job interview) or type your own situation and Kate will rehearse it with you in Korean.
How much does it cost after the free lesson?
$11.99 a month for daily practice, billed in US dollars. That is less than one hour with a private Korean tutor.
