🇬🇷 AI Greek tutor
Practice speaking Greek with an AI tutor who corrects you in real time
Quick answer
SpeakBase's AI Greek tutor, Kate, holds live voice conversations in Modern Greek, corrects mistakes as you make them and explains in English. The first lesson is free with no card; Premium is $11.99 a month for daily practice.
Kate is a live voice tutor. You talk in Greek, she talks back like a real person, and the moment you make a real mistake she stops, corrects it and explains why in English, then steers the conversation so you use the right form again. No scripts, no recorded phrases, no waiting for a booking.

What a lesson looks like
- Pick a situation: 48 role-plays from ordering coffee to a job interview, or type your own (“dinner with my partner’s parents”) and Kate rehearses exactly that.
- Talk for five to ten minutes. Kate adapts the speed and vocabulary to your level and keeps the conversation moving.
- Every real mistake is corrected in the moment and explained in English.
- At the end you get a recap of your mistakes with corrected phrases; they come back in later lessons until you get them right.
A real correction, as Kate makes it
Thelo ena kafes, parakalo.
Thelo enan kafe, parakalo.
'Kafes' is masculine, so as the object it becomes 'kafe' and its article becomes 'enan'. Kate explains this in English as soon as you say it, then asks what else you want so you use the accusative again.
Why Greek needs a live tutor, not another app
Cases: the ending changes with the job of the word
'O filos' (the friend) becomes 'ton filo' when he is the object and 'tou filou' when something is his. English stopped doing this centuries ago. Learners understand the table and then say the nominative for everything. Only spoken correction, again and again, makes the endings automatic.
Three genders and articles that follow them
Every noun is masculine, feminine or neuter, with its own article and its own plural: 'o', 'i', 'to'. English speakers guess. Greek listeners forgive it, but it marks you as a beginner long after your vocabulary has grown, unless someone corrects it every time.
The alphabet is the easy part, the sounds are not
You can learn to read Greek in a few days. Hearing the difference between 'δ' and 'θ', keeping 'γ' soft, and putting stress on the right syllable ('póte' vs 'poté' is 'when' vs 'never') is what makes you understood, and that comes only from speaking with feedback.

Frequently asked questions
Does the AI tutor correct Greek cases and genders?
Yes, every time. 'Ena kafes' instead of 'enan kafe' is the classic learner mistake, and Kate catches it in the moment and explains in English why the ending changed.
Is it Greek from Greece or Cypriot Greek?
Kate speaks standard Modern Greek as spoken in Greece and understood in Cyprus. Tell her your family is Cypriot and she will note the words that differ.
Can I practice talking with my Greek in-laws?
Yes. Tell Kate the situation, such as 'Sunday lunch at my partner's parents' house in Thessaloniki', and she will rehearse exactly that conversation with you, with the vocabulary you will actually need.
How much does it cost after the free lesson?
$11.99 a month for daily practice, billed in US dollars. That is less than one hour with a private Greek tutor.
