Two Iranian Men Charged in Britain Over Alleged Yom Kippur Bomb Plot in Manchester

British counterterrorism police have charged two Iranian nationals, Rahman Salehi, 34, and Salam Ahmadyan, 36, with preparing an act of terrorism in Manchester on or before Yom Kippur. Police say the pair tried to buy parts for a homemade bomb and carried out reconnaissance on possible targets while in contact with someone who may be in Iran. The men appeared at Westminster Magistrates' Court this weekend and will next be heard at the Old Bailey on October 23.
