Iran announced that vessels from approved countries crossing the Strait of Hormuz will have to pay service fees to Tehran, and a parliamentary committee approved the article of law that would authorize them. Roughly a third of the world's seaborne oil moves through the narrow waterway, so the plan puts a price tag on one of the most important shipping lanes on Earth.
