Engineers Turn a Mix of Everyday Plastics Into Clean Hydrogen Fuel Without Sorting Them First

Researchers at UCLA and Ewha Womans University in South Korea have developed a chemical process that converts a mix of the three most common plastics directly into high purity hydrogen fuel, without needing to sort the plastics first. The method also locks away carbon dioxide as a solid mineral instead of releasing it into the air, and it could make plastic recycling far more practical.
