AMD Pays 8.2 Billion Dollars for the Startup of the Woman Known as the Godmother of AI
AMD has agreed to buy World Labs, the two year old artificial intelligence startup founded by Stanford professor Fei-Fei Li, in an all stock deal worth 8.2 billion dollars. Li will join the chipmaker as executive vice president and chief scientist, and the purchase pushes AMD deeper into the race with Nvidia over so called physical AI.
