Astronomers Discover the Solar System's First Three-Lobed Asteroid, Complete With a Tiny Moon

Astronomers using telescopes in Arizona and Chile have found that asteroid Nysa is shaped like three fused lobes, likely formed when ancient fragments gently stuck together after a collision. They also discovered a small, previously hidden moon orbiting the asteroid, offering new clues about how such oddly shaped worlds form.
