Researchers from Duke University and IonQ demonstrated the first three-node quantum network using trapped atomic qubits connected by photonic fiber links, achieving entanglement fidelities of 84 to 88 percent across all three nodes simultaneously. The team generated a GHZ state across three spatially separated modules and violated the Mermin inequality to confirm genuine quantum non-locality.
