Weeks after their intimate wedding on June 13, 2026, at the Ocean House resort in Watch Hill, Rhode Island, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce appear to be planning a large public celebration in New York City. An event planning company called Winick Productions has filed a New York City Street Activity Permit to close streets near Madison Square Garden for the dates July 2 to 4.
The permit lists a capacity of 500 to 999 guests for the outdoor event. New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani referred to the occasion during a press conference, describing it as one of the most anticipated summer events in the city's calendar.
The private ceremony in Rhode Island was attended by approximately 150 guests from the couple's inner circle. In contrast, the planned Manhattan event would give a much wider audience the chance to share in the celebrations near one of the world's most famous entertainment venues.
Despite widespread media coverage from outlets including CNN, TMZ, and Deadline, neither Swift nor Kelce has officially acknowledged the event. This has become something of a tradition for the couple, who have consistently kept the details of their relationship guarded while allowing public celebrations to unfold without direct comment.

Advanced
Having contracted the intimacy of a 150-guest ceremony at the Ocean House resort in Watch Hill, Rhode Island on June 13, 2026, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce appear poised to translate their private union into a highly public spectacle. Event planning firm Winick Productions has secured a New York City Street Activity Permit covering July 2 to 4 for street closures adjacent to Madison Square Garden, with the permit listing a guest capacity of 500 to 999 - a figure that, combined with anticipated public crowds, would make it one of the summer's most conspicuous celebrity events in the city's history.
New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani - elected in the November 2025 municipal contest as part of a broader progressive wave - drew spontaneous attention to the event during a routine press conference, characterising it as a landmark addition to the city's summer cultural calendar. The mayor's public endorsement, unsolicited by either party, effectively transformed what might have remained a rumored gathering into a de facto civic occasion.
The cultural dimensions of the event are considerable. Taylor Swift's Eras Tour generated an estimated $5 billion in economic activity across host cities during 2023 and 2024, and her fan base - known as Swifties - mobilizes with organizational efficiency that rivals political campaigns. Travis Kelce's celebrity has meanwhile undergone its own exponential expansion, transitioning from NFL star to a cultural crossover figure whose commercial footprint spans broadcasting, podcasting, and brand endorsements.
The couple's deliberate silence on the matter - with neither confirming nor denying plans despite blanket coverage from CNN, TMZ, and Deadline - reflects a media management philosophy that has proved remarkably durable. By permitting events to materialize publicly while withholding direct confirmation, Swift and Kelce have maintained an aura of authenticity and exclusivity even as their celebrations scale to sizes that make the concept of a truly private life increasingly theoretical.
- spectacle
- an impressive and memorable public event or display
- conspicuous
- clearly visible and attracting attention
- de facto
