According to ESPN, Jose Ramirez left third base uncovered on Chandler Simpson's infield chopper, then misplayed Ben Williamson's grounder for an error, and the three runs that followed were unearned. Ramirez took responsibility for the miscues afterwards.

Tampa Bay turned a pair of Cleveland fielding lapses into the margin of victory on Tuesday night, beating the Guardians 3 to 1 at Tropicana Field to square the American League Championship Series at one game apiece.
Freddy Peralta was the architect of the win. The right-hander worked six shutout innings, scattering four hits and two walks while striking out six, and a stable Rays bullpen finished what he started.
The fourth inning was the hinge. ESPN reported that Jose Ramirez left third base unattended on Chandler Simpson's chopper and then bobbled Ben Williamson's grounder, handing Tampa Bay three unearned runs. Ramirez, a perennial MVP candidate, owned the gaffes afterwards.
Chase DeLauter's seventh inning RBI double kept Cleveland within reach but no further. Having stormed back from a 2 to 0 deficit to win Game 1 by 7 to 3, the Guardians now return home for Game 3 having been reminded that October rarely forgives defensive sloppiness.
