We went to the cinema on Friday evening.
اشْتَرَيْتُ حذاء جديداً من السوق.
I bought new shoes at the market.
أكَلُوا جميعاً الكعكات التي خَبَزْتُها.
They all ate the cakes I baked.
سَأُخْبِرُكُم بما سَمِعْتُهُ أمس.
I'll tell you (pl.) what I heard yesterday.
عَمِلْتُ بجدّ كي أنجح في الامتحان.
I worked hard so I would pass the exam.
اتَّصَلَ بالمكتب وسأل عن الوظيفة.
He called the office and asked about the job.
دَخَلَ من البوابة بدون أن يقول شيئاً.
He came in through the gate without saying anything.
وَجَدْنَا شقة جميلة جداً في الوسط.
We found a very nice flat in the town centre.
أرْهَقَ الأطفالَ الطريقُ الطويل.
The long journey wore the children out.
حان الوقت لنذهب من هنا.
It's time for us to leave.
فجأة سَمِعْتُ صوتاً عالياً على الباب.
Suddenly I heard a loud noise at the door.
دَخَلَ البيتَ ووَجَدَ كل شيء في مكانه.
He went into the house and found everything in its place.
سأَلْتُ المعلم عن الدروس.
I asked the teacher about the lessons.
حَدَثَ شيء غريب في الحديقة هذا الصباح.
Something strange happened in the garden this morning.
طَلَبُوا منا أن ننتظر قليلاً.
They asked us to wait a little.
أطفأ النور ونام فوراً.
He turned off the light and fell asleep straight away.
نسي مرة أخرى أن يقفل الباب.
He forgot to lock the door again.
اسْتَيْقَظْتُ مبكراً وذهبت إلى العمل.
I woke up early and went to work.
حُلَّتِ المشكلة فوراً عندما فَهِمْتُ ما يحدث.
The problem was solved at once when I understood what was going on.
